Our large scale renovation project of the Modernist social housing district Windmoleken in Halle has been earmarked by the vlaio.be project impaC³t (KU Leuven), which focuses on integrating sustainable and environmentally friendly approaches into circular renovation projects.
ImpaC³t aims to test and accelerate the application of circular building solutions in collective urban renewal projects in Flanders. Our Windmoleken project, submitted for the Innovative Housing Projects call, has been chosen to form part of their Living Lab (LL).
The Living Lab will elaborate upon existing strategies and solutions related to circularity and urban renewal at the neighbourhood level, aligning with the broader goal of accelerating the renovation of the existing built fabric in a sustainable and circular manner. The case-study projects will act as the basis for a decision-making framework aimed at applying circular solutions to collective renovations through co-creation with various stakeholders and diverse target groups.
We’re particularly proud that our project has been recognized as an exemplary case within the Living Lab, showcasing a commitment to sustainable and circular urban renewal.
Updates to follow!
